Administrative Roles

Besides the association between the user and the role you may now control which setup sections the user allowed to access.

We have replaced Administrator flag with the choice of predefined setup permissions.

  • No Access
    The user is not allowed to access setup section at all;
  • Manage Users
    The user is allowed to invite new users and edit existing users;
  • Manage Data
    The user is allowed to import, export and delete data from the tables;
  • Manage Users and Data
    Combines "Manage Users" and "Manage Data" privileges;
  • Full Access
    User can access setup with no restrictions.

Eventually we are planning to allow permission set customization to enable fine-grained setup access control based on the profiles.

Handling a Heavy Volume

The information volume the application service provider can handle has always been brought into a question. A lot of users really wonder how deep and complicated the structure can be and how stable the system works while handling a heavy volume.

Imagine the data volume that can even stagger our TeamDesk customer: one of the biggest seeds and planting stock distributor.

With over 200,000 clients at the moment and having 190,000 orders placed within last three months, these numbers keep growing day after day. 50 operators place about 2,000 to 4,000 orders per day and one of the tables is already populated with over 6,000,000 records.

Even though the volume keeps growing steadily (up to 90,000 records are added daily) the system works smoothly, so the customer may concentrate on their business, resting assured that the system can handle their growing demand.

View Security Editor

In addition to views' Manage Access page we have added security settings option right in the view editor.

View Access Settings

This TeamDesk extension allows to set up access rights while creating new or editing exiting view.

Import Improvements

We've changed the way we import the data into a table.

Import process now scans all the data and validates its format prior to saving the result to the database. If the import doesn’t go through, the system displays the problem description along with the row and the column where the problem occurred.

In case of successful result, TeamDesk displays the number of created and updated records.
